Today was absolutely blissful. This morning I ventured into town for a spot of retail therapy; before returning home to read and eat caramel ice cream in the sunshine. What more could I ask for? On several occasions I had previously mentioned my desire for the arrival of spring; and I think my prayers have been answered. It's an extremely rare occurrence for the temperature in England to reach anything over 10 degrees Celsius, but over the weekend it reached double that amount. I can well and truly say that spring has sprung! I think the heat went straight to my head, as it resulted in me dressing like an actual girl (shock horror!). Now that's something you don't see everyday! After taking these photos on the grass I seemed to suffer from a mild case of hay fever. I hope you all appreciate the pain I go through for this blog! I'm surprised I didn't get sunburnt, seeing as that's what usually happens whenever I become exposed to even the slightest bit of sun. Oh the joys of being pale skinned!

This dress is ideal for the warmer weather. It's so lightweight and floaty; so I couldn't resist wearing it today. The last thing I need while it's hot is for sweat to be dripping off me and to feel uncomfortable. I love how the sunshine seems to have a positive effect on everybody's mood. People just stop what they're doing and relax without a care in the world. It's wonderful to observe everyone's happiness.

I thought I'd share with you this song from one of my favourite bands. Best Coast and Real Estate are both brilliant bands to listen to on warm summery days. I adore the laid back, carefree vibe that their music exudes.  I highly recommend you check them out as soon as possible!

I hope you've all been enjoying the glorious weather and soaking up some rays!

My weekend mainly consisted of baking, doing school work, and filling my belly with delicious food. I have English and Spanish controlled assessments cropping up over the next week, and if I'm honest, I'm absolutely dreading them. My memory isn't exactly my strong point, so memorising two sides of A4 paper in Spanish is easier said than done. I'm just looking forward to when they're over, as I'll be going on my school's Russia trip in less than two weeks. Although I admit I'm lusting for summer, I can't wait to catch a glimpse of some snow. It always looks so ethereal and dreamy, and results in me reverting to about five years of age. That being said, as soon as I get back to school I have yet more exams. I feel as if I'm swamped under a never-ending pile of school work! I suppose all of my hard work will pay off as soon as it's over.

On the plus side, I've been feeling much better than I did last weekend. My cold finally went away- thank goodness! Easter is rapidly approaching and my birthday is in less than a month, but to be honest, I haven't even thought about either of them as a result of all my school work! With it being Mothers Day today, my sister and I decided to bake my mum a cake and treat her to pancakes for breakfast this morning. Did you treat your mum to anything nice? I'd love to hear about what you did in the comments.

I apologise if this post is a little rushed; I literally feel as if I'm nodding off at my keyboard as I type this. Now I must dash to catch up on some well-deserved sleep; I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Pastel Pink

Coat: Primark
Jumper: vintage
Skirt: vintage
Boots: Doc Martens
Bag: eBay

When looking at these photos the first thing that sprung to my mind was 'granny-meets-military-chic'. My favourite trend this season is by far pastels, so I thought I'd embrace it in full swing with this pink ensemble. I had originally styled the outfit without the coat, boots and bag; however I eventually decided to give it more of a grungy edge. It's funny how accessories can change the entire aesthetic of an outfit, and take it from drab to fab with no effort whatsoever. Despite this, I did get a few odd looks and sniggers wearing this into my local town. If I'm honest, I couldn't give two hoots! I'm all for promoting individuality and uniqueness when it comes to personal style, and if somebody dislikes that then I try not to let it get to me. I always think that you should dress for yourself and nobody else; that way you can explore different styles and feel confident with what you wear. You should never try to change yourself in an attempt to fit in- just stay true to yourself! There are an abundance of facts that come with life, and one of them is that you can never please everyone; so you should give up trying and just focus on pleasing yourself.

Despite this weekend's arrival of sunshine, I picked up a terrible cold which has resulted in me feeling and looking like the living dead. Walking around with watering eyes and a red nose is never a good look, regardless of how good looking you may be. I'm sure even Alexa Chung would struggle to pull it off! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my cold will be gone within the next few days. I don't think I can tolerate another outburst of sneezes!

Hopefully you're all feeling much better than I am!

Is it inappropriate to say 'hugs and kisses' at the end of this post? Perhaps I should go with something more fitting...

Yearning for Summer

I'd like to apologise for not having an outfit post prepared for this week. I spent my weekend reading and drawing in solitude, so I moped around the house in leggings and an oversized tee. I presumed that none of you would be interested in seeing pictures of me looking as if I'd just rolled out of bed, so I hope that this brief post will be sufficient enough to compensate for a non-existent outfit of the day. I promise I'll have one ready for next week.

The weather this weekend was fairly peculiar. Within the space of a day the sun had shone, and it had both rained and snowed. Typically the weather was decidedly miserable and damp; not that I was expecting any different, as this is England after all. All week there had been a kind of dampness about the air which is the perfect recipe for a bad hair day. It's resulted in me desperately longing for Summer and everything that comes along with it. I hope the weather is more pleasant where you are!
